The Ultimate Fit or Fat : Get in Shape and Stay in Shape With America's Best-Loved and Most Effective Fitness Teacher, Covert Bailey, 2000.  Covert’s first book was the first most influential health books I ever read.  This edition also touts the importance of weight lifting.  Solid foundational information in health detailing how fat burns after exercise, the role of protein in our diets, and more.  An enjoyable and entertaining read makes this subject fun.

Low-Fat Living: Skillpower not Willpower, Robert K. Cooper, Ph.D.,1996.  Looking for a complete health guide? This one covers it all – from turning off the fat-makers, turning on the fat-burners, creating longevity, energy, weight loss and freedom from disease. Complete with healthy recipes.  Power packed info!!!

Take Time for Your Life: A Personal Coach’s 7-Step Program for Creating the Life You Want, Cheryl Richardson, 1998.  Looking for unlimited energy while creating an extraordinary life?  This book has it all.  Written by a nationally recognized coach, Cheryl’s touts the concept of “extreme self-care” (which I utilize with many of my clients).  A practical, easy-to-use guide that will challenge you to live with integrity and meaning, starting with “extreme-self care”.

Body for Life, Bill Phillips, 2000"A 90 Day Fitness Program that has proven results you can SEE with you eyes.  Numerous participants in the program have take "before" and "after" pictures.  The results are astonishing.  I have several friends who have completed the program with AMAZING "after" pictures.  The program outlines specific aerobic, weight-lifting and eating regimen - and it's all very do-able.  The Body For Life program absolutely works if you'll willing to make the 90 commitment and follow the guidelines.  I'm currently doing the program, Day 38 and already very pleased with the results."

Tae-Bo: The Ultimate Body Workout for Men and Women, Billy Blanks, 1998. call 800.228.2326 to order.  I’ve never been a “video-based exerciser”, however Tae-Bo is FUN and includes a full body workout that will tone all those problem areas - tummy, hips, legs and arms.  You’ll tighten up in no time at all.  Tae-Bo is a combination of boxing, kick-boxing, aerobics and isometric exercise.  It’s awesome.  I like the four video-pack, which includes the Instructional Video, Basic Workout, 8-Minute Workout, and the Advanced Workout.

The Fat Burning Diet: Accessing Unlimited Energy for a Lifetime, Jay Robb, 1994Understand how a high carbohydrate diet could be making you fat.  This straightforward book answers all your questions about burning fat.  A gem of a book.

Eat Right for Your Type: The Individualized Diet Solution to Staying Healthy, Living Longer & Achieving Your Ideal Weight, Peter J., Dr. D' Adamo, 1997.  The first nutrition book to take into consideration your blood type and then suggests foods, exercise and lifestyle habits that work best for your body.

Stop Aging Now: The Ultimate Plan for Staying Young & Reversing the Aging Process, Jean Carper, 1995.  If you want the secrets to staying young, read this one.  Based on cutting-edge research revealing the amazing anti-aging powers of supplements, herbs and food.  This book gives you simple ways to add energy and  years to your life.
